I STRONGLY URGE AGAINST ORDERING OFF OF AMAZON OR OTHER THIRD PARTY WEBSITES, WAREHOUSES, OR DEPARTMENT STORES as these sites are often not regulated & you may be purchasing a defective, diluted, expired or even contaminated product. This also includes department stores such as TJMAXX, Walmart (unless through salon) Target, etc.
It is worth paying the few extra bucks to purchase a product you know was traded through a regulated system with a product guarantee
Masks should be done AT LEAST once a week. I recommend having a "scheduled or blocked day (mine is always Sundays because I'm off work relaxing at home & I can MARINATE. Remember this is SELF CARE...make it enjoyable!
I sometimes sleep in my masks overnight or let them sit all day while I'm lounging around the house. I also like to "cocktail" my mask regimen and do different masks for different concerns. (example: Olaplex 3 for bond strength & Olaplex 8 or 7Hair Diamond Mask for hydration
I HIGHLY encourage & most times require using some if not most of the listed LEAVE IN TREATMENTS after each wash. These are going to act as your MOISTURIZERS for you hair, like you have a moisturizer for your skin. Hair can become dry and REACTIVE just as skin can.
Your shampoo & conditioners act as your "cleanser", your hair masks act as your "face masks" and your leave ins are going to act as your "moisturizers".
EVERYONE would benefit from using a leave in treatment and hair mask in one way or another, whether you are color treated, high lift blonde, or have extensions.
OPTIMAL CARE & ROUTINE WILL PRODUCE THE GREATEST RESULTS
ANOTHER TIP: LEAVE INS CAN BE APPLIED ON DRY HAIR
if your mids & ends are feeling dry between washes, spraying a leave in hair mist such as GAZAR spray leave-in or apply Olaplex No 5 (on dry hair) acts as a moisture refresh! I sometimes do this right before bed & brush it through my hair.
Most water systems use chlorine to disinfect the water. Chlorine & heavy metals in the water are damaging to our skin and hair.
Since moving to Arizona, I am FLOORED by how bad the water is here, which can be researched with a quick Google search.
Hard water also contains high levels of minerals like calcium and magnesium which can build up on your hair and scalp, leading to dryness, dullness, brittleness, and potential breakage; it can also make it difficult to fully rinse shampoo and conditioner, leaving a residue behind & feeling weighed down & heavy.
I HIGHLY recommend doing your research on shower filters and softeners. I have a Jolie shower filter which can be purchased here.
AVOID USING SUNSCREEN CONTAINING “AVOBENZONE” as it is a chemical that can discolor your hair peach/brassy & is not easily removeable and could cause further damage. This especially goes for EXTENSION CLIENTS.
They make Avabenzone-Free sunscreens.
THE SUN CAN FADE & DAMAGE YOUR HAIR
The sun can lighten your hair by naturally bleaching it through its UV rays, but this process also damages your hair by breaking down the protein structure within the hair structure, making it dry, brittle, and prone to breakage; essentially acting like a chemical bleach, albeit more gradually.
If outside for long periods of time or laying by the pool, I recommend wearing a hat to cover your hair (especially blonde clients), they also make HAIR UV PROTECTANTS.
7HairCare has one called - RINZU Color UV Spray which can be purchased through
Mainly directed for blonde clients, if using oils, I recommend using a CLEAR HAIR OIL as yellow tinted oils may lightly stain your hair over time.
Keep thermal and heat styling such as blowdrying, styling, and hot water as minimal as possible. The more heat you apply, the more dry & brittle your hair will become. When thermal styling, please use a thermal protectant EVERY TIME.
SHAMPOO HAIR TWICE - first shampoo is removing debris & product buildup, and the second shampoo can penetrate, cleanse & treat the hair further. Think of it as a "double cleanse"
STEP 1.) Shampoo with Hydrate Shampoo (removes debris and product buildup)
STEP 2.) Shampoo again with Hydrate Shampoo, if toning blonde, mix hydrating shampoo 1:1 or 2:1 with purple toning shampoo (ALWAYS MORE HYDRATING THAN VIOLET, never the opposite) and emulsify in hands to dilute mixture. PURPLE SHAMPOO IS TOO DRYING AND CONCENTRATED TO USE ON IT'S OWN. I RECOMMEND USING AS AN "ADDITIVE" for toning properties, not cleansing properties.
Diluting the mixture with hydrating shampoo also allows the product to spread and tone more evenly, and not soak up into hair's "dry patches"
STEP 3.) If doing a hydrating mask, do hydrating mask now, and follow mask instructions.
If doing Olaplex 3, do before Step 1 (read instructions)
STEP 4.) Condition with Hydrate Conditioner.
If toning blonde, mix hydrate conditioner with purple toning conditioner 1:1 or 2:1 (if more silver results achieved) and emulsify & mix in hands first to apply more evenly.
STEP 5.) Apply hair leave in treatments
When applying purple toning shampoo or conditioner mixtures to hair, start from your ends (as they're the most porous) or the warmest areas first, and then work into hair. Don’t always apply straight to the middle of your hair or front hairline as overtime applying the most concentrated to the same area can create OVER TONING.
IF OVERTONING OCCURS, LIMIT VIOLET SHAMPOO/CONDTIONER USAGE or ELIMINATE IT COMPLETELY.
